USES AND BENEFITS: It is used to calm the irritation of a dry cough and irritated mucous membranes the mouth and throat, but not as an expectorant. PREPARATION AND DOSAGE: Sprinkle 1-3 g (1-1.5 teaspoon) chopped roots with about 150 ml (1 cup) cold water. Leave to be macerated in all covered about 30 minutes to 1 hour, with frequent mixing and then puncturing. Drink tea three times a day for one cup for 1-2 weeks, and consult a doctor for longer-lasting use. Maximum recommended daily mass is 6 g. 1 teaspoon = about 3 g.
